3 Sense Kaleidoscope (tm)
The 3 Sense Kaleidoscope (tm) was created to allow 3 senses at the same time to focus on an integrated stimulus. Beautiful images for the eyes, restful and energizing sounds and music for the ears, and captivating aromas of essentials oil blends for the nose are combined for a unique experience.

The kaleidoscope, through the use of a 2 mirror right angle(90-36-54)prism, provides a spectacular pentagon image(10 fold 5 point). Front surfaced mirror and flocked light sink 3rd side are used inside. The red padauk casing is highlighted with a burl endpiece as well as maple, walnut, and koa parts. The scope can be removed from the base to add mobility. The laminated object image disks were designed with color combinations consistant with current color therapy guidlines. The object disk is the same size as an audio CD so that they could be packaged together for easy product distribution. The flower disk was created by scanning the flowers from my garden and printing that image onto thin paper using a computer CD label program. The paper was then laminated at a local office supply store. Making your own object disk is a very easy project and that means that there could be an unlimited supply of different disks to make and experiment with. To add object versatility, the disks may be positioned in any of 5 different peg positions. These 5 positions affect the radius location and flow characteristics of the disk as it is turned. A strong supplied light source is necessary for correct illumination. (see aroma section)

Sound
The 2 CDs supplied both consist of natural sounds mixed in different ways with classical and folk music. They are chosen with music therapy principals as a guide. Both CDs were chosen for their uplifting and calming effects.
The first CD consists of;

1... Tchaikovsky’s Overture Miniature to The Nutcracker Suite A light rain shower at dusk blankets the meadows around a clear, gentle creek. Songbirds sing good-night from their perches.

2....Donizetti’s Sextet from Lucia di Lammermoor At day’s end, the blazing sun edges over the watery horizon, gilding the heavy Pacific Ocean waves that rhythmically roar toward shore.

3....Schubert’s Ave Maria A crystal clear spring bubbles up from the ground at the edge of a forest, and as the day comes to a close, robins, cardinals, eastern orioles, chickadees, and wood thrushes take to song, livening the pre-night air.

4....Debussy’s Prelude to The Afternoon of a Faun In the hushed hours of evening under a canopy of stars near Lake Superior, the only sound comes from the soothing waves lapping against its rugged shoreline.

5......Schubert’s Scene am Bach Part 1 and 2 As blue-gray skies turn ever darker with the loss of sunlight, a family of common loons begins to sing to the woodland surrounding their lake.6.....Chopin’s Etude Deep in the wilderness forest, songbirds share their cheery music, announcing the end of another day.

7 Brahms’ Lullaby In the soft grayness of dusk near a rippling brook and the lake it flows from, wood frogs, a great horned owl, and common loons soothe the skies with their gentle voices.

Disk 2 is a combination of rainforest sounds and acoustic music. A journey through our created environment. Brazilian sound and African melodies lead into the inner sanctum of the rain forest. Listen as the tropical wildlife flourishing among the rich, green plants.

Aroma and Light
Aroma and light are delivered through the lamp/aroma system. A special flourescent light is the heart of the system. Do not use a regular light bulb: too much heat would not do! The lamp only gets warm, provides plenty of light to the scope, a nice glow to the room, and just the right amount of warmth to naturally disperse the essential oils. A single drop of this oil on a Q-tip inserted near the bulb will fill the room with a subtle aroma. When ready for a new aroma a new Q tip should be used. Included are 2 shades of handmade natural paper for the lamp. To use, them gently bend the shade so both ends are captured by the grooves in the wood.

Essential Oils
Nine blends were chosen for use with the 3 Sense Kaleidoscope (tm).

Calming Blend : All the essential oils in this blend are calming and
soothing in nature. Contains lavender, orange, geranium, cedarwood, marjoram, frankncense and rose.

Celebration Blend : This uplifting combination of orange, cinnamon and cloves fills a room with happiness and enjoyment Contains cinnamon, orange, spruce, patchouli and clove

Energizing Herbal Blend : A blend of essential oils of herbs, designed to stimulate memory, clear thinking and focus ones attention. Contains rosemary, cypress, juniper, basil, lemongrass, orange and vetiver.

Feminine Balance Blend : A blend of essential oils that will help balance mood swings and ease discomfort.Contains orange, sandalwood, clary sage, rose, jasmine, yarrow, tanacetum, ylang ylang and vetiver.

Inspiration Blend : A blend of essential oils designed to be uplifting,
inspiration and refreshing Contains mandarin, lemon, bergamot, tangerine, lime, litsea cubeba, lemongrass, and fir needle.

Meditative Blend : These essential oils are all good for quieting the mind and are great for deep relaxed breathing and contemplation. Contains frankncense, myrrh, sandlewood and cistus.

Relaxing Blend : A sweet smelling blend for soothing, calming and relaxing the body, mind and spirit Contains cedarwood sweet orange and ylang ylang

Revitalizing Blend : A fresh smelling and uplifting blend of oils that will revive
and revitalize the spirit Contains rosemary, lemongraas, orange, ginger root, grapefruit, mandarin, cinnamon and lemon.

Sensual Blend : a soft and sensual blend of essential oils. Contains muhuhu,
palmarosa, nutmeg, benzoin, ylang ylang, and vetiver

Directions for Aroma Lamp
(Note: Always apply the essential oil with the lamp turned off.)
The light is very bright -do not look at it directly.)
1) Cut a Q-tip to about 3/4 inch long
2) Carefully put a drop of your chosen oil on the Q-tip
3) With the light turned off, insert the Q-tip in the base
4) Turn the lamp on ( the light will reach its full brightness
in about 10 minutes
5) Choose your CD music. Play it
6) Choose your image disk. Use it
